Democrats and Republicans Agree on Enhanced Tax Incentives for Conservation Easements

On Friday February 17, 2012 Jim Gerlach (R-PA) and Mike Thompson (D-CA) formally announced that 300 representatives have co-sponsored HR 1964, a bill proposed to enhance tax incentives which recently expired at the end of last year. This program will allow modest income farmers and ranchers to afford to put their land in conservation by receiving significant income tax deductions.
