- Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) -- state trust fund whose mission is to help preserve, protect, enhance, and manage the state's wildlife, park, river, trail, and open space heritage through several grant programs.
- Mountain Studies Institute -- non-profit research and education center facilitating research, outreach and sharing GIS data and resources specific to the San Juan Mountain region.
